Finance tip: Utilities/Gadgets
Save electricity when charging your phone, and extend its battery life. All cellphones require a charger or adapter, which one would plug into an electrical outlet to charge the device. When done with charging your phone, make sure that you take the charger out of the plug socket, as it still draws a small charge when plugged in – even if your phone has been unplugged from it. Also, to reduce wear on your phone battery (making it last longer), keep your phone in an area of the house/office where there is good reception. Cellphones use far more battery power if they are constantly searching for signal – reducing battery life, and the time between charges.
Business tip: Innovation
Don’t be afraid to go for the ‘low hanging fruit’ first. When it comes to new ideas or projects, most businesses start out wanting to come up with massive, game-changing innovations that will change the world. While there’s nothing wrong with being ambitious, this shouldn’t come at the cost of implementing sound, proven, logical ideas. In any business or industry, there is going to be ‘low hanging fruit’ – ideas which are very obvious, very logical and relatively simple to get going. These could be slight improvements on current processes, an idea your competitors are toying with, or organic growth paths. While these may not blow the market’s mind, or take over the world, they should not be ignored and seen as a waste of time. Don’t see these as an ‘easy option out’ – just because they’re so obvious, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be implemented. Make a habit of grabbing the low hanging fruit (who doesn’t want decent returns for relatively little effort?) and these will help to give you the growth and foundations you need if and when you finally launch your game-changer on the unsuspecting world… |
